Established in 2011, Marie Touraine and Nicolas Menand have made Haras d’Écouché a benchmark facility in the trotting industry.
Ideally located just outside Argentan, at the heart of a thriving breeding region, the stud offers the perfect environment to welcome mares, foals, and yearlings in a safe and well-designed setting.
A team united by passion and performance
Supported by a professional and caring team, each young horse benefits from close supervision throughout its development. Attention to detail, consistency, and dedication ensure that every future trotter is prepared in the best possible conditions.
Facilities
The estate extends over more than 180 hectares, offering an ideal environment for breeding and preparing young trotters.
Haras d’Écouché is equipped with modern, functional facilities designed for both the horses’ well-being and the efficiency of daily work.
• A large 8-horse walker
• A covered lunge ring, perfect for handling and conditioning young horses
• A white-sand Havrincourt ring
• 45 boxes, including 15 foaling stalls
• A quarantine barn
• A motorized treadmill
• A 65-metre straight track, specially designed for yearling presentation before sales
• Extensive, secure paddocks and pastures, providing a natural and peaceful environment for breeding
Benefiting from the nearby coastline and a mild local microclimate, the stud maintains excellent grass quality all year round.
